In the winter of 2017, I had the opportunity to travel to Nepal, the focus of which was women’s issues and non-Western faith. I traveled with four other women and a local guide, and was met with many stories of resilience and hardship. We attended graduation ceremonies for women’s literacy programs, spoke with artists at a women’s painting studio, and learned about the issues and stigmas surrounding menstruation in these communities. We also drove cross-country between busy cities and quiet mountain villages, and sat in on many small church services along the way. Read more about the experience here.
